FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Our family farm begins harvesting our home-grown Asparagus in April.  Tomatoes and Strawberries will be harvested shortly there after.  These two crops are grown in high tunnels, which allow for an earlier harvest than usual. The late spring and summer months usher in a variety of fantastic fresh choices ncluding:  Raspberries, Blueberries, Squash, Peppers, Onions, Cherries, Peaches, Apples, Nectarines, Plums, Sweet Corn, Spinach, Radishes, Beets, Scallions, Pumpkins, Lettuce, Carrots, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Cantaloupe, Watermelons, Canary Melons, Honeydew, Peas, Lima Beans, Green Beans and more!

We take pride in growing the highest quality produce and you can be sure it's fresh picked daily.

       Why Eat Local?

  • Locally grown produce is fresher and more nutritious than produce traveling long distances.
  • Eating local produce is better for the environment. Less travel means less fossil fuel burned to get to your plate… check your food miles.
  • Local food means more options. We grow extensive varieties of crops that never make it to supermarket shelves. Experiment!
  • Locally grown produce has longer to ripen and just tastes better.
  • Purchasing locally grown produce keeps your dollars invested locally and keeps your neighboring farmers in business.

HONEY

Our honey is as local as it gets.  Bees use our crops to gather pollen and produce honey right on our farm.  This all-natural process is fascinating and tasty at the same time.

      Local Honey Facts

  • Eating honey that is local to your area may help to prevent seasonal allergies. Bees use the pollen from local plants and eventually it ends up in your honey.
  • The honey in our store was made from bees that pollinate our strawberries, apples and other crops and flowers.
  • Honey is considered the only food that includes all the substances necessary to sustain life.
  • Honey is antibacterial – great for both internal or external problems
  • Honey soothes tissues and helps to retain calcium in the body.
  • To make 1 lb. of honey worker bees will travel about 50,000 miles and visit 2 million flowers.

CALL OR VISIT TODAY!

You'll enjoy the "Country Atmosphere." There's always something interesting happening at Fifer Orchards because we are a "working farm." The kids will enjoy seeing the tractors, forklifts, trucks and equipment being used to plant, cultivate, harvest, and sell our fresh farm products. You just can't get fruits and vegetables this fresh or this nutritious unless it's direct from the source.

We're a quick trip from the surrounding towns and cities, located just 2 miles west of the intersection of Routes 13 and 10 at the Camden red-light.  (click here for directions)

Come on out to the COUNTRY today and remember to eat at least five servings of fruits & vegetables every day for better health.
