Recipes - Olde Fashioned Peach Crisp with Almond Crunch

Ingredients:
5 pounds sliced Red Haven peaches, 1 cup dark brown sugar, ½ cup white sugar, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg. Crust: Flour, Butter, Crisco, Water. Topping: Flour, Sugar, Butter, Almonds
Directions:
Place sliced peaches in a large pan. Heat peaches, 1 cup brown sugar, ½ cup white sugar, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, until the mixture has thickened. Pour into large casserole deep dish.
Make a short crust with ¼ cup of butter, 1 cup of flour, ¼ cup of Crisco. Add up to ¼ cup of water if needed by adding 2 tablespoons of water at a time. Roll and lay over peaches. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.

Make the almond crunch my mixing 2 tablespoons flour, ¼ cup sugar, ¼ cup butter, and ½ cup crushed almonds. Spread over the crust and serve warm.
