Welcome to our peach orchard. |

Peaches start as beautiful pink flowers in the spring. The peach blossom is the state flower of Delaware. |
Peaches in full bloom are a sure sign of spring. We prune the trees in the late winter and early spring so that sunlight can shine in to all parts of the tree and allow the peaches that develop to receive plenty of sunshine for color and flavor. |
Small peaches developing in June. |
Peach trees need plenty of water. Our older trees require irrigation over top of the trees like this. |
All our our newer orchards have drip irrigation line that is installed right next to the trunk of the trees. This allows up to conserve water and only place the water where it is need. Right at the roots of the tree. |
We grow 31 varieties of peaches! Each one has unique flavors and characteristics. |
There three types of peach. Yellow peaches, white peaches and nectarines. A nectarine is just a peach with a recessive gene that causes it to not have fuzz. It is not a cross between a peach and an plum as some believe. |
| “Free-stone” peach just refers to how the flesh of the peach separates from the pit. "Clingstone" peaches are not as easy to separate from the pit. Generally freestone peaches are preferred, especially for canning, but both taste great. |
We pick our peaches in to big plastic bins. The bins are then moved to our packing house for grading and packaging. |
Peaches are inspected for imperfections and graded by size. Only the best peaches are considered #1 quality. These are packed in to boxes for sale. |
Peaches are stacked on pallets and loaded on to trucks for market. |

The best place to find fresh peaches is right here on the farm at our Country Store. We offer many varieties that you cannot find in the grocery stores. We have peaches available from June-September. |
