Our Corn Maze is one component of our Fall Fest. It was established as a compliment to our U-pick Pumpkin activity and has grown into an event in and of itself.
Our first Corn Maze was crafted in 2005. We have been fine tuning our techniques to create themed corn mazes that are challenging, entertaining and educational.
The process to create our corn maze is as followed:
1.Come up with our theme in Spring
2.Design on computer in Summer
3.Plant corn in June
4.Use surveyors to triangulate the points
5.Flag the points and then connect the dots with Roundup sprayer
6.Spray (cut out) maze when the corn is only about 6 inches tall
7.Corn dies in the the pathways and 2 months later you have a maze
8. Finally, we implement our trivia stations.
